MS FLANGES – GENERAL


A Flange is used for connecting pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment to form a Pipe work system. It also facilitates easy access for cleaning, inspection or modification. Flanges are usually welded or screwed into such systems and then joined with bolts.

The basic types of flanges used in Sugar plants, Water, Sewage, ETP plants, Fire Fighting system, HVAC plant, Cooling towers and Utility plants pipelines are:

  • Slip-on raised face (SORF) or Slip-on flat face (SOFF) or Ring flanges or Collars

  • Blind raised face (BLRF)

  • Non-radius / radius screwed flanges

  • Threaded Flanges

  • Hot Dip Galvanized Flanges /GI Flanges

  • lap joint flanges



  


Flanges are manufactured and delivered as per the following Standards:

ASME/ANSI B16.5 (Used for upto 26 inches)
ASME B16.47 Series A (Used for more than 26 inches)
ASME B16.47 Series B (Used for more than 26 inches)
Classes 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500. Standard sealing face is Raised Face (RF). We also supply MS flanges with flat face (FF)

SLIP-ON RAISED FACE (SORF)/SOFF


This type of flange is slipped over the pipe and then fillet welded. Slip-on flanges are specified with following data Size, Rating, Material, Standard
